About TEDxFolsom High School Youth 2024
TEDxFolsom High School Youth, 2024 is the first TEDx Youth event at Folsom High and the FCUSD. The student volunteers and teachers are eager to make this event memorable so that future FHS students are encouraged to participate and take charge of similar events.
Mr. Cadenhead - the Principal of FHS; Mr. Crannell - the Vice-Principal of FHS; Mr. Castro - FHS teacher and Activities teacher; Bryan, the FHS technical director, and everyone else have their full support for the event, which will make it a big success. There are also a lot of volunteers who signed up enthusiastically for the event and are working hard to make the event successful.

Shohini Chakraborty is currently a junior at Folsom High School. She has been involved in community service since very young. She loves serving the Mercy Folsom Hospital every week. She is the co-chair of Project ADAM which is involved in free heart screening of youth in the Greater Sacramento area in collaboration with UC Davis and Kyle J Taylor Foundation. Even with her busy schedule, she loves teaching music to kids with neurodiversity. She plans to study and pursue a career in neuroscience coupled with the power of music. Her drive toward spreading positive messages is what inspired her to organize the TEDx Youth event at Folsom High School.

Mr. Castro is the current activities director and a social science teacher at Folsom High School. He has been an educator for 20 years and has taught multiple subjects including history, government, economics, psychology, leadership and film. He is very excited to work with this amazing group of students to bring TEDx Youth to Folsom High.
